Our story
Tree DSP was founded in 2024 by Michael Holmes in Brisbane, Australia. It started with a love of analog gear and a question: could its sound be brought into the digital domain more faithfully than existing techniques allow?
After several years researching neural networks for hardware emulation, that work became NN76, the first plug-in to use this approach to model the classic FET compressor. Future products will use whichever technique gets the best result.
Emulations are only part of the plan. Whether it's modelling classic hardware or building something new, the goal is the same: use the latest technology to make audio tools that sound right, are easy to use, and are affordable.
